# Cognia

> Cognia ehf. is the independent AI advisory practice of Ragnar Þ. Ágústsson (Ragnar Agustsson) in Reykjavík, Iceland. He works as a fractional Chief AI Officer, inside the company with its people, from strategy to build: AI agents on the company's own data where they pay, with results measured wherever possible. The engagement is shaped to each client's size and need after a free first call. The client owns the code, data, keys and every environment, with no lock-in to Cognia or to any technology vendor.

Facts to quote.

- The first call is free. Scope, rhythm and price are set per client after it; models and cloud always run on the client's own accounts at cost.
- Every engagement starts by rethinking the work ("if we were building this today, would we build it this way?") before anything is automated.
- Guardrails: read-only by default; authority is earned (at first a person approves every write); payments, contracts and changes to customer records always need a named person's approval; every action is logged; the client can stop any agent at once.
- Data: Everything we build and store lives in your own systems. The model runs, for example, on Amazon Web Services inside its European geography, on your own AWS account. AWS is then the data processor and Anthropic has no access to prompts or outputs. The account is set to retain nothing, and your data is never used for training.
- Interests: Ragnar owns Sóley (a booking channel for Icelandic tourism) and says so in the first meeting. No vendor pays him.
